Programme Participation
Launched in 2005 and 2007 respectively, the Olymipc (IOC) and Paralympic (IPC) Athlete Career Programme (ACP) helps Olympic and Paralympic athletes successfully manage the difficult transition from elite sport to a new career through professional development and job placement. In addition, the IOC ACP was expanded to three pillars, covering education, life skills and employment to better meet the needs of elite athletes. In 2012, the IOC and the IPC both renewed their commitment to deliver the IOC and IPC Athlete Career Programme in cooperation with Adecco through 2020. By the end of 2011, the programme has already supported more than 8,000 athletes on all five continents with training opportunities and job placements.
