For more than 10 years, Marina Gallego Durán has been a professional sailor fully dedicated to her discipline. In 2008, after having missed the qualification for the Olympic Games in Beijing, she reflected on a career beyond sports. "I got in touch with the Adecco Foundation in Spain because of the IOC Athlete Career Programme. After attending one of their seminars, they advised me on how to combine sailing with a trainer career for young athletes in Palma de Mallorca where I originate from. A part from this, I am coaching a laser sailing team which keeps me at the pulse of the sailing world."
