Frank Fredericks

Frank Fredericks is Chairman of the IOC Athletes Commission and Chairman of the IOC Athlete Career Programme Steering Committee. An Olympic athlete who competed on the track at 100 m and 200 m, he was elected to the Commission in 2004 and made Chairman in 2008.

Frank Fredericks is active in the Olympic movement, participating as a member of the following Commissions: Evaluation for the Games of the XXX Olympiad in 2012 (2004–2005); Olympic Programme (2005–); member (2004–2008), then Chairman (2008–) of the Athletes' Commission; Co-ordination for the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London in 2012 (2005–); Co-ordination for the first Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010 (2008–).

His accomplishments in sport include: two silver medals (100 m and 200 m) at the Games of the XXV Olympiad in 1992 in Barcelona and at the Games of the XXVI Olympiad in 1996 in Atlanta; World Champion in 200 m in 1993 and runner-up in 1991, 1995 and 1997; World Champion in 200 m indoor in 1999; gold medallist at the World cup (1998) in the 200 m, gold medallist at the African Championships (1998) in 200 m, African Games (1991) in 100 m and 200 m and Commonwealth Games (1994 and 2002 in 200 m); world record-holder at 100 m and 200 m indoors; African record-holder in the 200 m.

In the area of Sports administration, Frank Fredericks is a member of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Athletes' Commission; African Athletics Confederation (AAC) Athletes' Commission Chairman; Namibian NOC Athletes' Commission Chairman, member of the NOC Executive Committee.

Frank has Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees.
