ACP Head of Project
Patrick James Glennon is the Global Director of the International Olympic Committee Athlete Career Programme (IOC ACP) in co-operation with Adecco. He began developing programmes to support athletes in making the transition from sport to the labour market in 2002, working with the National Football league in the USA. He went on to work with the other professional leagues, and engaged with the US Olympic Committee in 2005, before assuming his global responsibilities in 2006 with the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee.
Since he began working with the programme, it has delivered career services to more than 4,000 Olympic and Paralympic athletes in over 30 countries and continues to grow.
Prior to assuming his current position, Patrick Glennon achieved recognition as a global corporate development executive with financial discipline and a solid record of creating successful business operations globally. He had more than 20 years’ experience in companies ranging from small businesses to Fortune 10, delivering accretive business results. His global experience includes managing operations across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
While working with small enterprises, Patrick Glennon provided management coaching and business development services. Projects ranged from supporting the relocation of plant operations to creating business outreach strategies and providing coaching to the executive team in a management restructuring of a manufacturing consulting company.
His gained his experience with larger companies at IBM, starting in accounting and going on to executive management positions in the area of mergers, acquisitions, acquisition integration, plant divestures and partnership development in Technology and Global Services. In this role, he worked on a wide range of transactions, supporting IBM and its alliance partners in successful collaborations.
Patrick Glennon gained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Bentley College in 1982. He went on to acquire an MBA in International Finance from Pace University in 1987.
