He also directs the worldwide IOC Athlete Career Programme, as a strategic advisor with Adecco, the world’s largest human resource firm.

Robert Ctvrtlik has served on the IOC Reform Commission, the IOC Environmental Commission and working groups for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, and the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Summer Games. In 1994, he was named captain of the American Olympic team after participating in both the 1988 Seoul Games and the 1992 Barcelona Games – capturing gold and bronze, respectively. Robert Ctvrtlik made his final Olympic Games appearance, as captain, with the 1996 squad in Atlanta. As a fitting conclusion to his sporting career, he was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2007.

His most personal commitment came in 1995 when he founded the Bob Ctvrtlik Give Back Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to raising money for abused, disabled and disadvantaged children.

He graduated in 1995 from Pepperdine University (USA) with a degree in Business Administration. Robert Ctvrtlik lives with his wife of 15 years, Cosette, and his three boys, Josef (15), Erik (13) and Matthew (11), on Balboa Island in Newport Beach, California.
