Marion Dannaoui

Marion Dannaoui has been involved in the IOC Athlete Career Programme since she joined the IOC Sports Department in August 2007. Marion contributes to operational activities of the programme representing the International Olympic Committee. She supports a number of programmes and organisations at the IOC, including the IOC Athletes Commission, athlete elections during the Games, and collaboration with the World Olympians Association.

Marion started her career at the IOC in 2002, assisting in the creation of the Olympic Games Knowledge Management extranet, and subsequently working on the observers’ programme for the Athens Games. She then took a “semi-break” after the birth of her first baby, working part time in the philately and numismatics service of the IOC Marketing Department (2004–2007). In 2007, Marion came back to work full-time, joining the Sports Department team as a project assistant.

Prior to joining the IOC, Marion worked as a professional in tourism and sales in Lyon (France).

She gained a diploma in tourism – “Brevet de Technicien Supérieur” – in Lyon in 1994, and went on to attend a Sports Management Seminar, IDHEAP, in Lausanne, Switzerland, writing a paper on “How to improve the services delivered through the Athlete Career Programme”.

Marion is a Swiss and French national; she is married and has three children.
