Xavier Gonzalez

Chief Executive Officer, International Paralympic Committee

Xavier Gonzalez started working for the IPC in 2002 as Paralympic Games Liaison Director and interim COO and became Chief Executive Officer of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in 2004.

Before working at the IPC, he was highly involved in the organization of Paralympic Games. As such he had senior managing positions within the organising committees of the Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games as well as being Managing Director for the Salt Lake 2002 Paralympic Winter Games.

Xavier Gonzalez is a recipient of the Paralympic Order (2003), the highest award a person connected with the Paralympic Movement can achieve, honouring outstanding services to the Paralympic cause. He is a graduate in Economics and Sociology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Bellaterra).
